Avoid the 405! Big Rig Trailer Fire Jams Traffic at Wilshire Boulevard

WESTWOOD, CA - Motorists are asked to avoid the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway at Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood where a 40-foot big rig trailer is smoldering on the right shoulder after a trash fire.

There were no injuries and firefighters are re-attaching the trailer and moving it to a surface street to unload and fully extinguish the fire, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Humphrey anticipates closure of one or more lanes until the operation is complete, and says motorists should consider an alternative route.
