Bomb Scare Forces UCLA Evacuation

WESTWOOD, CA — A suspicious package prompted evacuations and a bomb squad response Thursday on the UCLA campus, authorities said.

The item was reported just after 2 p.m. near the School of Dentistry off Tiverton Avenue, according to campus police, which deployed a bomb-sniffing K- 9.

An LAPD bomb squad also responded.

The immediate area was evacuated as a precaution, according to reports from the scene.

The all-clear was announced about 4:15 p.m.
