Century Plaza Hotel Redevelopment Plans are Approved
While the initials plans of developer Next Century was to demolish the 1966 Century Plaza Hotel, thanks to the ongoing efforts of the LA Conservancy, preservationists have staved off the demolition of the World Trade Center architect Minoru Yamasaki's historical structure and we will now see new plans set into action! The new plans include the addition of two condo towers behind it as well as over 100,000 square feet of shops and restaurants. Construction will most likely begin in 2014 and will take five to six years. Check out this article in Curbed LA for more information!
