City Trash Truck Kills Woman Near Cedars-Sinai

A pedestrian struck was fatally struck by a city trash truck today near Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The person was fatally injured in the 8900 block of West Third Street about 8 a.m., Los Angeles police said.

ABC7 reported that a woman in her 60s died at the scene.

The sanitation division of the Los Angeles Department of Public Works issued a statement saying it was “deeply saddened” and the person’s death.

“A full investigation is under way, and no further details are available at this time,” according to the agency. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends affected by this unfortunate tragedy.”
