Construction Worker Who Died At Bel-Air Site Identified
Authorities identified a worker who died after experience chest pains 300-feet down a graded slope at a Bel-Air construction site.

BEL AIR ESTATES, CA —A worker who complained of chest pains before collapsing and dying at a construction site in the Bel Air Estates area was publicly identified Friday.
He was Jose Amado Gurrola, 55, of Pasadena, said Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. An autopsy was pending to confirm that Gurrola suffered a heart attack.
Firefighters were sent to the 800 block of North Stradella Road at about 12:20 p.m. Thursday on a report of a "significant medical emergency," the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. Gurrola was pronounced dead at the scene.

He had been working at a multi-level residential property with a 300- foot hillside, according to the LAFD's Margaret Stewart, who said grading was being done at the site.
Fire crews used ropes to hoist his body to street level, Stewart said.
