Cooking for a Cure: Culinary Tasting Tour To Benefit Pancreatic Cancer Research

Plan Check Kitchen + Bar will host Cooking for a Cure charity event benefiting the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing pancreatic cancer research. The culinary tasting event is a tasting tour and will feature six of LA’s most nationally renowned chefs and their signature dishes. In addition, cocktails, wine, beer and passed punch will be offered. A silent auction will also take place.

Spotlighted Chefs:

  • Ernesto Uchimura, executive chef and partner of Plan Check and Plan Check Fairfax

  • Jon Shook & Vinny Dotolo, owners of Son of a Gun and Trois Mec and James Beard nominees

  • Michael Voltaggio, chef and owner of critically-acclaimed restaurant ink. and winner of “Top Chef” (Season 6)

  • Bernhard Mairinger, chef and owner of the award-winning BierBeisl and BierBeisl Imbiss (opening Summer 2014) Austrian restaurants

  • Josef Centeno, chef and owner of Baco Mercat, Bar Ama, and Orsa & Winston as well as a James Beard nominee

  • Brendan Collins, chef and owner of Waterloo & City and star of TVs “House of Food” (MTV), “Bar Rescue” (Spike TV) and “Knife Fight” (Esquire Network)

  • This culinary event hopes to raise $50,000 for pancreatic cancer research.
