Crews Tackle Stubborn Attic Fire in Westwood Area
It took 61 firefighters to battle a stubborn attic fire in the Westwood area Sunday.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - It took firefighters a little over an hour to put out a stubborn attic fire at a home near Westwood, a fire official said Sunday.
The 61 Firefighters dispatched at 9:58 p.m. Saturday to the approximately 3,000-square foot, single-story residence at 700 S. Beverly Glen Blvd. had the fire out within 65 minutes of their arrival, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
``With zero visibility" in the home, firefighters located the attic fire while a truck company worked on opening the roof, Stewart said.

``After extinguishing the bulk of the fire, there was a flare up in the large common attic, which covers the entire space of the home, and additional resources were requested," she said. ``Fire was primarily contained to the attic."
No injuries were reported and a cause of the fire was under investigation.
