1) Kid’s Club at the Westside Pavilion
Kids can enjoy a free magic show in the Westside Pavilion’s 3rd floor food court at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 6. The Build-a-Bear mascot will be in the food court area giving away free bunny ears and passing out coloring sheets to the kids.

2) Free story time for babies and toddlers
The second Tuesday of every month, parents can bring their babies and toddler to the Westside Pavilion food court landing for a story. At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 the story will be “The Rainbow Fish” by Marcus Pfister.

3) Free Cone Day at Ben and Jerry’s
Yes, it’s that time of year again, that one special day when you can get a free ice cream cone at Ben and Jerry’s. Free Cone Day is Tuesday, April 12 and everyone gets one scoop of ice cream for free from noon to 8 p.m.. Get there early because it’s very popular.

4) Ciclavia free bike riding event
On Sunday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the city will block off 7 plus miles of streets in the downtown area from East Hollywood to Boyle Heights for bicyclists, rollerbladers, skateboarders, and pedestrians. More than 100,000 people participated during Ciclavia’s last event in October. There’s no organized event, just a big area with no cars so people can ride freely. 5) Chef’s Whim at Upstairs 2
Every Thursday at Upstairs 2, Executive Chef Todd Barrie prepares a 3-course prix fixe menu for $23.11. For those who want to have a lovely dinner and also try new wines, the Spring Tasting Menu is also 3 courses, but paired with wine. It’s $47. Upstairs 2 is the delightful restaurant that sits on top of the Wine House wine shop.
