1) Book Fair and kids’ entertainment at Barnes & Noble
Barnes & Noble is hosting a book fair for Westwood Charter elementary school on Friday, April 15 from 11 am to 9 pm. Kids can see the Westwood Charter Players perform songs from Alice in Wonderland Jr. at 2 p.m., make bookmarks with the school’s art teacher at 3 p.m. and enjoy a story time at 4 or 5 p.m. A percentage of purchases from the bookstore and the café will go to Westwood Charter’s booster club.

2) Make a donation and save money at Cole Haan shoes

Anyone who donates a pair of new or gently worn shoes to Cole Haan in the Westfield Century City Shopping Mall through April 18 will receive a 20 percent off coupon. It’s for Soles4Souls, a group that collects shoes and sends them to people in need in more than 125 countries. Shoppers that don’t have shoes to donate can make a $5 online donation to Soles4Souls to get the coupon.

3) Healthy Kids Day at Westside Family YMCA
The Westside YMCA is hosting a free, all-ages event for families on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids can learn about healthy ways to play and how to make healthy choices throughout their lives.

4) Reserve spots early for Cheviot Hills – Palms Community Spring Festival and Egg Hunt
It’s time to secure a spot for the fourth annual Easter egg hunt and Spring Festival at Cheviot Hills Recreation Center that takes place on Friday, April 22. The party is very popular and has sold out in the past. Parents can reserve a spot from 10:30 a.m. to noon for kids 3 to 10-years-old through the Palms Recreation Center Online Activity Catalog. $5 gets kids a wristband to participate in the egg hunt, crafts, egg dying and moonbounce.
