Giggles 'N' Hugs Playspace & Restaurant is hosting Books & Giggles, a night of story time, games, face-painting, giveaways and a special performance by singing sensation Jessarae. This community event benefits reading programs for inner city youths in Los Angeles, provided by the nonprofit organization After-School All Stars (ASAS-LA). Featured children's authors include: Derek Taylor Kent, Scary School; Carolyn Cohagan, The Lost Children; and Anna Hays, Portia's Ultra Mysterious Double Life.

Tickets ($14) are available for pre-purchase from http://giggleshugs.eventbrite.com/. You can also purchase tickets on-site. A portion of ticket sales and proceeds will benefit After-School All-Stars' reading programs. Book donations are also accepted.
