Break the Fast for Single Seniors (55+)

This is the kick-off event for Single Seniors Social Club, a group of Jewish singles 55 and older sponsored by the Sisterhood of Congregation Kehillat Ma’arav (KM), a Santa Monica synagogue. It features a kosher Break the Fast buffet.

According to Prissi Cohen, co-president of the KM Sisterhood, “The Break the Fast is timed to coincide with the beginning of the Jewish New Year. People who are alone on the holiday can make it sweet by renewing old friendships and beginning new ones.”

This is the first of many events the club is planning throughout the Los Angeles area. “We’ll meet the needs of single Jewish seniors, whether it is getting together for a museum, theatre, or restaurant outing, having a learning experience, or finding an exercise buddy,” Cohen said.
