When you think of hard-driving swing, daring expression, sophistication and elegance in artistry, formidable technique and a thunderous sound, there are only a small handful of pianists you think of and one of them is Eric Reed.
A child prodigy, he worked with Buddy Collette, Teddy Edwards, Jeff & John Clayton when he was just a teenager. He has since added Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson Wayne Shorter, Patti Labelle, Quincy Jones, Natalie Cole and numerous others to his resume. Beyond playing the piano, Reed is a composer/arranger, whose work can be heard in Eddie Murphy comedy, Life, among other films, commercials and TV spots.
Eric's latest recording, Stand! is a musical journey that traces his early church music experiences to present day circumstances…advising us "to be strong and uncompromising – a profound directive in these troubled times." www.ericreed.net
