Preservation Hall Jazz Band and The Del McCoury Band - American Legacies

plus a special pre-show processional by Killsonic.

Two pillars of American music from two distinct lineages come together for an unforgettable evening to celebrate the glory of tradition and the power of newfound collaboration. The recently released American Legacies captures the joyful essence of this historic partnership. While jazz and bluegrass might not immediately spring to mind as two genres ripe for cross pollination, when left in the capable hands of Del McCoury and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the result is perfectly natural, uplifting, beautiful music.

Starting out as a sideman for the legendary Bill Monroe nearly 50 years ago, McCoury is to many fans the living embodiment of bluegrass. The Preservation Hall Jazz Bandpreserve the legacy of traditional jazz that evolved in New Orleans and continue to bring it to contemporary audiences world-wide with over 150 touring dates a year. The storied Hall (still in operation) is a bona fide institution, and the PHJB are its mighty musical ambassadors.

With this record and on this very special tour, these two bands are together writing a beautiful new chapter in the history of American music.

Don't miss a special pre-show processional by Los Angeles' big band avant-garage punk-jazz mobile orchestra KILLSONIC under the Royce portico! The fun starts at 6pm.
