Fire Damages Westwood Apartment Building

No injuries are reported.

Fire damaged a Westwood apartment building early Saturday morning on South Midvale, a city fire department spokesman said.

The fire was reported at 2:20 a.m. at 1428 S. Midvale Ave., Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The location was described as a two-story apartment with one or more units to the rear involved, Humphrey said.

About 30 firefighters responded and they declared a knockdown on the fire at 2:41 a.m. They confined the fire to one apartment unit, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
