Firefighters Knock Out 4-Story Westwood Blaze

Westwood, CA - Firefighters made quick work of a blaze that broke out this afternoon in a four-story apartment building on Wellworth Avenue near Westwood and Wilshire boulevards.

The flames were reported about 3 p.m. in a kitchen on the first floor of the Westwood building, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A crew of 32 firefighters extinguished the blaze in 17 minutes, Scott said. No one was injured.
