Get Out: Weekend Events to Check Out

There's some sort of "big game" taking place but there's still other stuff worth doing as well.

It's Thursday so it's not too early to start thinking about the weekend. Sure there's that big game on the TV, but there's other activities worth checking out off the couch. Here's a sample:

1. Playwright Neil LaBute's latest The Break of Noon continues at the Geffen Playhouse. "LaBute explores the trials and tribulations of a modern day prophet, and what he signifies in a jaded world that is thousands of years removed from burning bushes and stone tablets," per the Geffen. Tickets and info

2. The Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA presents a day-long workshop Saturday that per organizers will include "the science of its effects on health and wellbeing and 'how-to' exercises to bring mindfulness into your daily life." More info here.
