Internet Declares UCLA Freshman 'Roommate from Hell'
An incoming Bruin and self-described ticking time bomb earned widespread scorn for her list of demands for her future dorm-mates.
A UCLA freshman managed to earn the title of world’s worst roommate this week without ever setting foot in her dorm room.
Angered that her future roommates failed to reply to an email within 48 hours, incoming Bruin Ashley fired off a follow-up email with a list of demands and a warning that she is a “ticking time bomb” with “anger-management issues.”
It didn’t go over well.

Winnie Chen, one of Ashley’s two assigned roommates, responded by posting the screed to Twitter. It instantly gained widespread notice, making Ashley the subject of international scorn.

“I want the desk that’s near the window. Plain and simple. I don’t care about who gets the bottom bunk but just know what I stated above is what I am expecting once i arrive at the dorm and I won’t be in the mood for any arguing or other nonsense because one of you two decided to deliberately disregard this email. If needed be I’ll turn it into a bigger situation so don’t try me,” Ashley wrote, undeterred by the dictates of both punctuation and social niceties. "Sorry but not that sorry for the attitude. I don't like being ignored because that's just rude but that’s what you both decided to do so I decided to make it clear now on the kind of person I am and what I will and will not take."

Guistinna, Ashley’s other future roommate, wasn’t impressed.
“GIRRRL, WE HAVEN’T EVEN MET YET,” she replied. “But at this rate, I don’t think I wanna even meet you anymore. #SORRYBUTNOTTHATSORRY.”
Chen posted the entire exchange on Twitter, where others piled on.
“She seems like a brat who got everything she wanted and is expecting that from both of you,” wrote one person.
“You and guistinna need to sleep in shifts tbh,” tweeted another.
Chen contacted university officials hoping to get reassigned but got no response, she wrote on Twitter.
She continues to post updates as the dorm drama unfolds.
Outlets such as USA Today picked up the story, along with international media, and now thousands are waiting to find out how the first day plays out.
“i really need an update at midterms. Like more than any other tv show, I need to know what happens next,” tweeted Sean Lim.
