Massive Tree Falls Onto Westwood Apartment, Displacing 16 Students
A resident asleep in bed narrowly missed serious injury when a 75-foot tree fell into a Westwood apartment building housing students.

WESTWOOD, CA — Intense wind and rain pushed a massive tree over into a Westwood apartment Friday afternoon, rendering four apartment units unlivable and forcing the evacuation of 16 college students
One resident narrowly escape injury when the 75-foot tree crashed into the side of the building, taking a good section of the roof with it, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The resident, was laying in bed when the tree fell into the apartment narrowly missing the person.
The tree fell shortly after 12 p.m. Friday as an Alaskan storm moved into the Los Angeles region. Four of the six units at the two-story building in the 600 block of South Kelton Avenue had to be red tagged.

There are no immediate reports of injuries.
