Need a City Permit? There's an App for That

Los Angeles has created an app to allow you look up information about permits and wait times at customer counters, and file complaints.

Getting information on city building permits and requesting inspections may now be done with a smartphone app, Los Angeles officials announced today.

Tge LADBS Go app, released by the Los Angeles Building and Safety Department for iOS and Android devices, gives customers another way to access services without waiting in lines, officials said.

The app will also allow users to report code violations, find Development Services Centers, check customer counter wait times and scan permit barcodes

“Modernizing government and improving customer service through technology is a key part of my Back to Basics agenda,” Mayor Eric Garcetti said. “LADBS Go will make it easier to do business and get city services anywhere, at any time.”

Department General Manager Ray Chan said the app is “another tool in the suite of development services enhancements and customer service improvements recently rolled out by LADBS.”
