Police Blotter: Stolen Cars, Laptops, Panties

Here is the West Los Angeles crime briefing for March 17-20 from our contacts at the Los Angeles Police Department West L.A. Division.

Among crimes reported are two from the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel, at 2000 Avenue of the Stars; someone had their laptop allegedly stolen in the lobby, and in a separate incident, a passport and ID.

Thousands of dollars in bras and panties were allegedly stolen from two separate stores: one at 1000 Westwood Blvd., the other at the Westside Pavilion mall.

There were no reported homicides, aggravated assaults or gang-related crimes.

Robbery:

 3/19/11, 1955    1800 S. Veteran    Prop Loss: $$, wallet, cell

The victim parked his vehicle in front of above location and began to exit. The suspect approached the victim, pushed him to the ground and pointed a gun at his head and demanded his money. The victim, in fear for his safety complied. The victim believe the suspect may have followed him from his business, a discount store in South LA.

Suspect 1: Male, Hispanic, 6-0, Heavy set, grey hoodie

Suspect 2: Male, NFI – possible red hoodie

Burglary:    

 3600 Mandeville Cyn Rd      

MO: On 03/17/11 between 1240 hrs and 1250 hours, a Male Black 6-1 200 lbs wearing a black sweat shirt and blue jeans entered the victim’s residence via an unlocked side door.  Suspect was seen by victim attempting to remove victim’s painting.  Once confronted, he fled through POE. No reported loss.

2400 S. Shenandoah St.    

MO: On 03/16/11 between 1200 hours and 1530 hours, an unknown suspect entered victim’s property via an open sliding door and removed victim’s property.  Unk susp left through POE an unk direction. Reported Loss: $345.00.

200 Anita, 

MO:  Between 01/17/11 at 0900 and 03/18/11 at 1400 suspect(s) entered the SFR by unknown means, removed TVs and purses.

10500 Lindbrook

MO:  On 03/19/11 at 0030, suspect(s) pried SFR front door, making a loud noise.  Suspect(s) fled, no property loss.

2100 Greenfield

MO:  On 03/18/11, between 1700 and 2015, suspect(s) smashed the SFR rear window, removed computers.

10300 Missouri

MO:  On 03/20/11 at 0315, the below described suspect forced the apartment building parking structure door, forced entry into a number of storage units, removed tools, food, household items.

Suspect: Male White red unknown 507 180 35 years, red shirt black pants, shopping cart

2700 Veteran

MO:  On 03/20/11, between 1630 and 1930, suspect(s) pried side bedroom door, removed electronics.

8500 Cadillac

MO:  On 03/18/11, at 0005, suspect(s) pried the victim’s storage room door.  Victim heard suspects, no property taken.

Business 

11973 San Vicente Bl. 

MO: Between 02/17/11 and 02/20/11 2000 hours and 1830 hours, an unk susp used a brick to smash front window to gain access to the office. Once inside, susp removed victim’s property and fled through the front door.  Reported Loss: $1,000.00

 11913 Wilshire

MO:  On 03/2/11 at 2220, suspect(s) smashed the business side window, removed petty cash from drawer.  Video may be pending.
