Police Seek LA Toddler Believed to be Kidnapped by Wealthy Father

Police today sought the public’s help in locating a 2-year-old girl who went missing Christmas Eve at The Grove shopping center in the midst of a supervised visitation with her father, a British national who is considered a potential flight risk.

The person supervising the visitation of Lucia Perry and her father lost sight of them about 5 p.m. Thursday at the shopping center, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD circulated a photo of the toddler, who is white, 2-feet, 6- inches tall with dark blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing pink sweatpants, a yellow T-shirt and hot pink Nike shoes, said Officer Ricky Hernandez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.

The child’s 31-year-old father, Jack Perry, was described as white, 6- foot-1 and 190 pounds, with brown hair and eyes and a light beard.

He is a resident of the Santa Monica area, and the child’s mother lives in the San Fernando Valley, said Lt. Jim Gavin of the LAPD’s Van Nuys station.

The child and her father were last seen Sunday at a hotel in Beverly Hills, according to Gavin. He said Perry is considered a potential flight risk because he comes from an affluent family and has access to private aircraft.

“They don’t fly commercial. They’re known to fly private,” the lieutenant said.

The child’s father also has a “minor criminal history,” having being arrested in Los Angeles for driving on a suspended license and in Las Vegas on suspicion of forgery, Gavin said.

Van Nuys station detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of the child or her father to call them at (818) 374-1913.
