Power Is out in Westwood, Bel Air

About 4,500 Department of Water Power customers in Westwood and Bel Air are without power tonight, a department official said.

The outage, which affected mostly residential customers north and south of Sunset Boulevard and east of the San Diego (405) Freeway, was reported around 8 p.m., the DWP's Jane Galbraith said.

The outage was caused by a problem at a distribution station. Workers were attempting to isolate the line and bring five failed circuits back online, but it was unclear if the problem would recur, Galbraith said.
