Rider Reports Bomb Onboard Bus Near Wilshire Blvd.

Bomb squad investigates, determines claim was false, officials said.

LOS ANGELES – Police today determined that there was no bomb aboard a bus in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles, contrary to what a passenger had claimed.

The passenger got off the bus about 10:30 a.m. near Wilshire Boulevard and Cloverdale Avenue and stated there was an explosive aboard, said Los Angeles police Officer Irma Mota.

The bus was evacuated, traffic was routed away from the area, and a bomb squad was sent to investigate. Early Friday afternoon, police determined that there was no explosive aboard the bus, the LAPD reported.
