Woman Assaulted at Knifepoint Jogging on UCLA Campus

The suspect remains at large.

A woman was assaulted at knifepoint while jogging on the UCLA campus, and the suspect who attacked her remains at large, police said today.

The woman was jogging around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on the northeast side of the Murphy Sculpture Garden, south of Macgowan Hall, when she was grabbed from behind by a male suspect armed with a knife, according to UCLA police.

A bystander yelled at the suspect, prompting him to let go of the woman and flee.

The woman suffered three minor cuts to one of her arms, campus police reported.

The suspect, whose race was unknown, was described as light-skinned and wearing a black long-sleeved sweater and dark-colored, possibly denim pants. He smelled heavily of alcohol, police said.
