1 Killed, 4 Hurt In Florence Crash

The crash remained under investigation by the CHP.

FLORENCE, CA — A 27-year-old Los Angeles man was killed and four other people -- including a pedestrian - suffered major injuries Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in the Florence area.

Jorge Juarez was driving a 2015 Kia south on Compton Avenue, north of Gage Avenue, about 3:10 a.m., when 28-year-old Ana Galicia of Los Angeles, driving a 2017 Toyota pulled out from a public driveway and headed east across Compton Avenue, just north of Gage, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP officials said Galicia's car -- which contained Annalyne Dantes, 26, of West Covina; and Maria Trinidad, 38, of Paramount -- crossed Compton Avenue and slammed into Juarez's car, sending Galicia's vehicle into car into 21-year-old pedestrian Javier Rodriguez of Los Angeles, who was walking north on Compton Avenue.

Juarez was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP reported. Galicia, Dantes, Trinidad and Rodriguez were hospitalized with major injuries. arrested.
