• Men's soccer takes down Mt. SAC in first conference game on new field (talonmarks.com) — Cerritos College men's soccer christened its new home field with a tense 1-0 conference win over rival Mt. San Antonio College, powered by Michael Hernandez's goal and goalkeeper Angel Sotelo's seven saves. The physical match at the Cerritos Soccer Field ended with multiple cards and a late red, meaning the Falcons must now adjust without key midfielder Jason Castro in their next outing.
   

• FHA cut off Equity Prime Mortgage, American Financial Network and Sun West from approving its loans in some areas over high default and claim rates (newsbreak.com) — A Cerritos-based lender, Sun West Mortgage, has temporarily lost its authority to underwrite new FHA-insured loans in the Houston field-office area because of high default and claim rates. Existing FHA borrowers with Sun West aren't affected, but new applications in that region must shift to other approved lenders, and the company can't seek reinstatement until early 2027.
