Artesia Being Considered for 'Most Business Friendly' Award in L.A.

Do you find it easy to do business in town? A local organization thinks Artesia is one of the best in Los Angeles County when it comes to being "business friendly."

The city of Artesia may be one of the best places in Los Angeles County to run a business, according to a local economic development commission.

The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), whose mission is to "...attract, retain and grow businesses and jobs for the regions of Los Angeles County" holds an annual awards ceremony recognizing some of the best places to do business, according to their website.

The Eddy Awards, now in their 18th year, are held to recognize leadership in the business and government sectors that help foster economic development.

At the November awards ceremony, one large city with a population over 50,000 and one small city with a population less than 50,000 will be crowned the "most business friendly."

Artesia is one of five small city finalists in the running for the top honor in the small city category.   The other finalists are: Bell Gardens, El Segundo, La Mirada and San Gabriel.

As for the large city competition, Glendora, Lancaster, Paramount, Pico Rivera and Santa Monica are in the running.
