Cerritos Business Owner Alerts Authorities to Burglary in Progress by Watching Surveillance Live Feed

Launderland owner gave deputies a play-by-play as the burglars were breaking in.

CERRITOS, CA -- Two men were arrested on suspicion of burglary early Wednesday after a laundromat owner watching a live internet feed reported someone had broken into his Cerritos business.

Deputies responded about 2:20 a.m. to Launderland in the 16400 block of Norwalk Boulevard after being alerted by the business owner, who was monitoring the business via internet-connected surveillance cameras, according to Lt. Steven Marella of the sheriff's Cerritos Station.

"The deputies were given up-to-the-minute accounts of the burglary as it was occurring, which included how one of the suspects forced entry into the business through a rear door," Marella said.

Arrested at the scene on suspicion of commercial burglary were 28-year-old Salvador Lopez and 29-year-old Eduardo Euan, both of Los Angeles, according to Marella.

"Salvador Lopez was located in the parking lot of the business, still in possession of the burglary tools used to break into the business," Marella said. "Eduardo Euan was located in a vehicle parked on a nearby street with property belonging to the business."
