Recognition for a phenomenal season keeps coming in for Valley Christian High's boys volleyball team, with two players named to the All-CIF Division 3 team – including the player and coach of the year in the division. Senior outside hitter Kyle Pollema was selected by the area coaches as the CIF Player of the Year, while Crusaders coach Rob Samuelson was named CIF Coach of the Year for Division 3. Senior Chris Albers was also selected to the 12-player team.  In May, the Crusaders captured the CIF Division 3 title, beating top-seeded Burbank Burroughs, 3-1. Valley Christian advanced to the Southern California Regionals, but lost in the semifinals to Laguna Beach. Valley Christian entered the playoffs as the No. 2 seed and the champion from the Olympic League. The Crusaders did not lose a game heading into the finals, beating Ocean View, Placentia Valencia and Torrance to advance to the finals. On May 21st at Cypress College, Valley Christian claimed the title with a 27-25, 25-27, 25-18, 25-16 victory over Burroughs.
