Compton Woman Stabbed To Death Allegedly By Ex-Boyfriend ID'd

The ex-boyfriend was being held in Ventura and listed as a "person of interest" pending interviews by detectives, police said.

COMPTON, CA — Authorities Tuesday identified a woman who was stabbed to death in Compton, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, who was later arrested in Ventura following a traffic crash.

The stabbing was reported about 9:30 a.m. Monday in the 1600 block of East Palmer Street, said sheriff's Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez.

The victim was identified by the coroner's office Tuesday as Claudia Moya-Sanchez, 37, of Compton.

Deputies responding to an "assault with a deadly weapon" call found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds, said Deputy Kelvin Moody.

Investigators later learned the woman was involved in an argument with her ex-boyfriend, who stabbed her, Moody said.

The ex-boyfriend was being held in Ventura and listed as a "person of interest" pending interviews by detectives, Moody said. His name was not immediately released.
