Gateway Man Jumps Out of Car Onto I-5 in San Diego; Killed by Oncoming Traffic: Authorities
The 33-year-old died Sunday, shortly after he was struck by an oncoming vehicle, San Diego County authorities said. Breaking.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Authorities identified a Los Angeles County man killed over the weekend on Interstate 5 in Oceanside when he reportedly jumped out of a moving vehicle into freeway lanes.
At about 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, Gerardo Miranda, 33, of Cudahy, was traveling in a vehicle with family members, heading north on I-5 between Mission Avenue and State Route 76, when he "suddenly exited the vehicle on foot and entered the path of oncoming vehicles," according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Witnesses called 911 when Miranda was struck by oncoming pickup truck.

Miranda was rushed by paramedics to nearby Tri-City Medical Center Emergency Department, where his death was pronounced shortly after arrival, according to the ME's office.
California Highway Patrol was investigating the death.
