Ex-NBA Star Jeff Adrien Dies Jacking Luxury Car from Hollywood Valet

Adrien claims he was borrowing a friend's car and got into the wrong one by mistake.

Former NBA player Jeff Adrien, who’s accused of driving off in a luxury car that had been left with a hotel valet, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a felony charge of driving or taking a vehicle without consent.

Adrien allegedly was seen driving the car -- which had some damage -- and pulling into a Hollywood hotel parking lot Dec. 7 after the owner was told the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550 had already been taken.

Adrien allegedly walked away as the valets tried to speak with him. He was arrested that day by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division and released on $25,000 bond.

A date is scheduled to be set Jan. 28 for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require Adrien to stand trial on the charge, which could land him in jail for up to three years if he’s convicted.
