Firefighters Attempting to Remove Body of Welder Found Dead Inside Tanker

PARAMOUNT, CA - Firefighters Friday are attempting to recover the body of a man found dead inside a petroleum tank in Paramount.

The man had been doing some welding inside the tank and was reported to be unresponsive, according to a county fire department dispatcher.

Firefighters and paramedics dispatched at 11:12 a.m. to the 7000 block of Alondra Boulevard on a "confined space rescue" call realized the man had suffered from "heavy face" trauma, according to Vanessa Lozano, a public information assistant with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

It was not immediately known how the injuries were inflicted, Lozano said.
