Cerritos' New Chamber President Sings a Familiar Tune

Linda Frisbey, of Frisbey Accountancy Corporation, gets installed as new president of the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce, then concludes the meeting with a Disney song.

The Cerritos Sheraton housed a cheery bunch – a prosperous bunch, if you will – as a great deal of applause was served to the new president of the Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce during its 49th Annual Installation Luncheon.

On June 7, newly installed chamber president, Linda Frisbey of Frisbey Accountancy Corporation, was treated to a slideshow presentation showcasing her deep roots in Cerritos, back when it was called Dairy Valley. In fact, as a young, talented girl, Frisbey sang at the very first chamber installation.

Things really did come full circle, with outgoing chamber president Ann Smith passing her gavel to the excited Frisbey.

“I'm excited we've got such a great new president,” Smith said. “Linda Frisbey is a person that has a great deal of interest in our community and will certainly work to help all the Cerritos businesses.”

As Frisbey wrapped up her installation address, she sang a stunning rendition of “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from the Disney film, Cinderella. Of course, this left the chamber with a sense of optimism that anything is possible.

“I think it's (presidency) going to be a wonderful opportunity to get to know more people,” Frisbey said. “I've had a wonderful experience so far, and it's only going to get better. It's still out there with the difficult economy, but we're going to do our best to let the small businesses grow, and we'll be there to support them.”
