Search Continues for Suspects in Downey Murders

Two men were fatally wounded in a brawl outside a Downey restaurant Sunday morning.

Two men who were stabbed and shot to death in an attack outside a restaurant in Downey Sunday morning have been identified in broadcast reports.

KCAL9 said Raymond Contreras, 34, and Isaac Perez, 31, were the victims Downey police found suffering from stab and gunshot wounds when they responded to George's Restaurant and Bar in the 7800 block of Florence Avenue about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Paramedics took both victims to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead, Downey police Lt. Mark McDaniel said.

The men's injuries resulted from a fight in the parking lot between the victims and the suspects, McDaniel said .

The suspects, described only as males, fled west on Florence Avenue in unknown vehicles, he said.
