STACKED Restaurant in Cerritos Introduces Dining at Your Fingertips

When the recently deceased Apple founder Steve Jobs introduced the iPad to the world in 2010, providing an audio-visual platform via multi-touch display for accessing music, newspapers, books and games were some of the tablet’s features.

Well, now, add ordering food to the mix.

Today (Nov. 17), the will welcome the newest addition to its selection of eateries when STACKED: Food Well Built Restaurant officially opens its doors for business starting at noon.

STACKED, which will allow customers to customize, order and pay for meals via iPads located at each table, has been described as a “fast-casual plus restaurant, serving made-to-order sandwiches, burgers, salads and pizza.”

Customers will be able to stack their meals with various toppings, such as Roma Tomatoes, Applewood Smoked Bacon and Fried Egg. A wide-range of beers and wines will also be available. (Click here for a complete look at the menu.)

The new eatery, which can seat 230 in its 6,500 square-foot space, was approved by the Cerritos City Council in June. The Cerritos location will be the third for the new franchise, and its first free-standing building.

For those who may be a bit timid about the concept of ordering food via iPad, Barbara Caruso, a communications representative for STACKED, told Patch concierges will help customers with orders once they’re seated.

And for those who wish to opt for the more conventional ordering method, no problem.

“They (will be) given a paper menu and a quick overview of the ordering system, but a concierge can take their order if they prefer,” Caruso said.

Caruso said an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Cerritos restaurant is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m.

STACKED Restaurant is located in the Los Cerritos Center at 18425 Gridley Road. The restaurant’s hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
