Two Wounded in Artesia Shooting

The conditions of the victims are unknown.

At least two people were wounded in a shooting today in Artesia.

The gunfire was reported about 6 p.m. in the area of 167th Street and Pioneer Boulevard, said the watch commander at the sheriff’s Lakewood Station.

Two people were taken from the scene to a hospital, but their conditions were not immediately available, said Bernard Peters, supervising dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Early reports from the scene indicated as many as three people had been shot, the watch commander said.
