Are you ready for some football? School is just around the corner and that has the boys of Friday night lights very excited about kicking off a new season.

The Crusaders finished with a record of 5-5, 2-2 in the Olympic League. Whittier Christian took the league title with an undefeated conference record.

The big question for Valley Christian is who will be behind center when the season getsunder way. The new quarterback will have no prior varsity experience.

“It’s always our goal to win our league,” said Streelman of his expectations for his squad. “We set our competitive goals there.”
Valley Christian’s top three returning seniors are two-way players, or players that play on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
Wide-receivers LeWayne Wright (6’2’’, 225 lbs) and David Coley (6’1’’, 185 lbs) will try to make things easier on their new quarterback. Anthony Nocera (5’10’’, 225 lbs) is expected to start at center for the Crusaders, while spending time at linebacker on the defensive end.
The Crusaders will open the season Sept. 2 as they play host to Campbell Hall. Gametime is set for 7 p.m.
