Who Killed Andre McMihelk in Compton?
Relatives of the disabled 32- year-old man who was gunned down in May are asking for the public's help in finding his killer.

COMPTON, CA -- Sheriff's investigators and relatives of a disabled 32- year-old man who was shot and killed in Compton in May will appeal to the public Friday for help finding whoever is responsible for the killing.
Andre McMihelk Jr. of Long Beach was gunned down about 7:35 p.m. on May 14, a Sunday, in the 1000 block of South Nestor Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
Authorities said at the time of the killing that witnesses reported McMihelk was walking on South Nestor Avenue when a dark four-door sedan passed by, then stopped. One passenger exited the vehicle and fired several times at McMihelk, striking him multiple times.

McMihelk was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said McMihelk was active in raising his four young children and was engaged to a woman who is pregnant and due to give birth to their child during the holiday season.

"Family and friends describe Andre as an outgoing and friendly person with no ties to any criminal street gangs," according to a sheriff's department statement.
Friday's news conference is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. at the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau in Monterey Park.
