• Developers plan to replace Centerfolds club with travel center north of Chico (actionnewsnow.com) — A large redevelopment is being proposed for the Centerfolds property just north of Chico, replacing the longtime adult club and neighboring businesses with a new travel center. The Butte County Board of Supervisors has discussed zoning options but taken no action yet, leaving the developer hesitant to invest millions until permitting requirements are clear. If approvals come through, construction could start next year.
• Change is state law won't impact grazing goat services provided to City of Chico (actionnewsnow.com) — Goat grazing in Chico's Lindo Channel will continue despite a recent change in state wage law for herders. The city's Public Works Director says Capra Environmental Services will adjust staffing and schedules so the hundreds of goats can keep clearing 33 acres of fire fuels without significantly raising Chico's costs.
• Week One of Under the Lights - Play of the Week (actionnewsnow.com) — High school football fans around Chico are being asked to help choose the first "Under the Lights" Play of the Week after an exciting opening slate of games. Nominees include a contested catch in the Paradise–Las Plumas matchup and a trick-play pass from Enterprise High School, with viewers invited to cast their votes online.
