Future of Chico State Women's Soccer is bright with new Head Coach Halle Meadows (theorion.com) — Chico State women's soccer has a new head coach, Halle Meadows, who's focused on rebuilding team chemistry after major roster changes and aiming for another run at the CCAA title. With free admission for Chico State students, locals can catch the Wildcats' current four-game homestand at University Soccer Stadium and see how Meadows' culture-first approach translates on the field.
2. Playing For Community: APIDA Pusoy Dos Workshop (theorion.com) — Chico State's APIDA Center is inviting students to a beginner-friendly Pusoy Dos card game workshop Tuesday from 2–3 p.m. in Meriam Library 171, designed to build community and introduce campus resources. Organizers hope Chico students of all backgrounds will learn the Filipino game, connect with peers, and feel more at home using APIDA's study space, counseling, and multicultural events.
3. Call for Proposals: 2027-28 Governors' Awards (csuchico.edu) — Chico State faculty and program leaders can now prepare proposals for the 2027–28 Governors' Awards, which distribute about $130,000 to projects that advance campus priorities and benefit students. Submissions must move through directors or deans before reaching division vice presidents by November 15, 2026, so now is the time to shape ideas that could directly improve student life in Chico.

C&L's Late Nite Music Club: Jonathan Richman, The Modern Lovers 'Roadrunner' (crooksandliars.com) — Legendary musician Jonathan Richman, known for influencing punk and alternative icons, is now quietly living in Chico where he spends his time making bread ovens. For local fans, it's a surprising reminder that a major figure in modern rock history has chosen Chico as home, blending his love of the modern and old worlds in a low-key way.
