Car Slams Into Side Of Paradise Building Near Taco Bell

The restaurant was closed following the crash but will likely open Tuesday.

PARADISE, CA — One person suffered minor injuries after a car slammed into the side of a building near the Paradise Taco Bell Monday afternoon, fire officials said. Cal Fire Butte Unit/ Butte County Fire Department responded to the collision.

The Taco Bell located at 5859 Clark Rd. was closed for the remainder of the day but employees anticipate opening Tuesday. The menu board was badly damaged during the crash and the gas lines were turned off while officials cleaned up the wreck and inspected the damaged building, which houses a laundromat.

Witnesses said the driver of the SUV, who was moving "very fast" before the collision, hit the menu board before slamming into the building next to the restaurant's drive through lane. Only the back of the SUV was visible following the crash, according to witnesses. No other information is available.
