Cascade Fire: Body Found In Yuba County, Authorities Say
The Yuba County Sheriff-Coroner's Office is investigating. The remains were found during a welfare check conducted by deputies.

YUBA COUNTY, CA — Authorities found a body inside a burned home in Yuba County while responding to a report that a family friend was missing following the Cascade Fire evacuations. The body was found on the 12000 block of Douglas Way in Loma Rica on Tuesday afternoon, the Yuba County Sheriff's office said in a release on its website.

The Cascade fire started late Sunday morning and has burned more than 12,000 acres. It was about 20 percent contained.
The deadly wildfires raging in Northern California have left at least 17 people dead and many people injured. The massive fires have been fueled by dry weather and howling winds, devastating the region and charring tens of thousands of acres. The fires continued to burn Wednesday in Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Yuba, Butte, Nevada, Calaveras and Mendocino counties — with more evacuations ordered late Tuesday evening in multiple affected counties.
