Topless Car Wash Fundraiser Raises Funds, Eyebrows In Yuba County
The proceeds from the fundraiser were donated to help two Yuba County sheriff's deputies injured on duty in August.
YUBA COUNTY, CA — Before the drought years, car wash fundraisers were an accepted way to raise money for a good cause. However, a car wash fundraiser held in Marysville last weekend took some serious heat not because of the excessive water usage but because of lack of clothing on the volunteers sudsing up the cars.
City Limits Showgirls held the topless car wash on Sept. 16 to help raise money to donate to help two Yuba County sheriff’s deputies injured on duty during a shootout in August.
“I know we are not the ideal business for a fundraiser but we feel it's our civic responsibility to help anyway we can,” the club management said via social media.”These officers put their lives on the line to protect everything dear to us.”

The successful, albeit unorthodox fundraiser, which included free entry to the club with the car wash, raised more than $2,500, according to the City Limits Showgirls Facebook page. The Yuba County Deputy Sheriff’s Office was not reached for comment about the fundraiser.
