• Citrus Heights council to hear appeal over code violations at Antelope Road property (citrusheightssentinel.com) — Citrus Heights residents may soon see action on a long-problematic Antelope Road property, as the City Council will hear an appeal of an abatement order at a special meeting on Aug. 26. Neighbors have long complained about numerous stored vehicles on the 1.7‑acre lot, and the council's decision could determine what changes the owner must make.
   

• Update: Man in critical condition following assault by armed suspect (citrusheightssentinel.com) — A man remains in critical condition after an assault at a Citrus Heights shopping center at Auburn Boulevard and Greenback Lane, where police say a knife‑wielding suspect attacked him Thursday afternoon. Officers briefly closed westbound Auburn Boulevard during a tense pursuit before safely detaining the suspect, who is now in Sacramento County Main Jail as detectives seek more witnesses.
