Gutted, 3-bed home in Citrus Heights listed for $125K (citrusheightssentinel.com) β A heavily gutted three-bedroom home on Lichen Drive in Citrus Heights has been listed for $125,000, far below typical neighborhood prices. The 1960 house is being sold as-is as an investor special, with most interior finishes removed, a history of multiple past sales, and nearby comparable homes recently selling around the high $300,000s.

Sacramento County deputies release video of deadly shooting on Interstate 80 near Citrus Heights (cbsnews.com) β Sacramento County deputies have released body camera footage from a July shooting on eastbound I-80 near the Antelope Road exit by Citrus Heights, where a domestic violence suspect was killed after allegedly pointing a gun at officers. The man was wanted for reportedly beating his ex-wife for days in Rancho Cordova, and the sheriff's office says five deputies fired; no officers were injured.

Lynette Hooker's husband Brian rummages through trash on California streets months after wife's disappearance (foxnews.com) β A man connected to a high-profile missing-person case has recently been seen living quietly in Citrus Heights, walking dogs, grabbing coffee, and rummaging through neighborhood trash. Investigators continue probing his wife's disappearance in the Bahamas, while her family, watching from afar, still pleads for answers and justice. Authorities say he has not been accused of any crime.
