• FieldHaven Facility Still Underway (citrusheightsmessenger.com) — Plans for a new low-cost FieldHaven veterinary clinic on Old Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights are still moving ahead, despite delays from unexpected HVAC and electrical issues. The city is finalizing architectural plans, and FieldHaven is temporarily operating from a second on-site building while renovations continue. Once open, the clinic will offer affordable spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchipping for local pet owners.
   

• A Sacramento County school district has 1,200 fewer kids this year. Officials don't know why (abridged.org) — Families in Citrus Heights whose children attend San Juan Unified schools may soon feel the impact of an unexpected loss of 1,200 students districtwide, which could cut millions from state funding. District leaders say they're still analyzing why enrollment dropped so sharply and how it could affect future budgets, staffing, and programs across communities including Citrus Heights.
