Citrus Heights Chamber seeks input to help structure, inform, new Business Watch program (citrusheightssentinel.com) — Citrus Heights business owners are being asked to help shape a new citywide Business Watch program being developed by the Chamber of Commerce with the Police Department and City. The effort will divide the city into 26 districts, host regular meetings, and focus on crime prevention, safety resources, and networking so local businesses can share concerns and collaborate on solutions.

Citrus Heights Water District Appoints Acting General Manager - Association of California Water Agencies (acwa.com) — Citrus Heights Water District has named longtime engineer Melissa "Missy" Pieri as acting general manager, effective September 24, overseeing daily operations and service for about 70,000 customers. She succeeds retiring GM Hilary Straus, who served the Citrus Heights community for more than two decades and helped guide major infrastructure efforts like Project 2030.
4. Rep. Kiley demands Sacramento TV station stop airing 'Duck' ad tying him to Trump (mercedsunstar.com) — Voters in Citrus Heights are in the middle of a heated congressional race where Rep. Kevin Kiley is demanding a Sacramento TV station pull an attack ad linking him to Donald Trump. The spot, backing Democrat Richard Pan, highlights Trump's past endorsement, while Kiley argues it falsely implies support for his current CA-06 race as he campaigns as an independent.
5. A new California law forces one community to try something different over homelessness (laist.com) — Citrus Heights is now required to join Sacramento County and nearby cities in forming a joint powers authority to coordinate the region's homelessness response by 2028. Supporters say this mandated collaboration could streamline services and reduce confusion, while critics warn it adds costly bureaucracy and sets a precedent for state-imposed regional governance models.
