Residents raised concerns about rising budgets and water rates, while district officials emphasized capital improvements and noted no rate hikes are planned for the rest of 2026 or all of 2027.
   

• Deceased man found inside burned mobile home in Citrus Heights (citrusheightssentinel.com) — Investigators discovered the remains of a deceased man inside a mobile home on Plymouth Rock Lane in Citrus Heights after a fire late Thursday night, and police are calling the death suspicious. Detectives, arson investigators, and the county coroner are still determining the cause of death and the victim's identity, and residents are urged to contact Citrus Heights Police with any information.
   

• SB 802: Citrus Heights among cities now required to form countywide homelessness agency (citrusheightssentinel.com) — Citrus Heights is now required, along with Sacramento County and nearby cities, to help form a new joint powers authority on homelessness and housing by January 2028 under SB 802. City leaders previously opposed the bill but shifted to neutral after amendments let cities keep control of their funds, and Citrus Heights has already appointed representatives to a regional planning task force.
