• Sunrise parks district plans $4M in upgrades at various parks (citrusheightssentinel.com) — Citrus Heights parks are set for major upgrades after Sunrise Recreation and Park District approved $4 million in projects, including a new amphitheater, breezeway renovation, HVAC replacement, and pool improvements at Rusch Park. Additional funds will support a new splash pad and picnic area at Foothills Community Park and upgrades in Antelope and Foothill Farms. These changes will reshape local recreation options over the coming year.
   

• SB 802: Citrus Heights among cities now required to form countywide homelessness agency (citrusheightssentinel.com) — Citrus Heights is now required by a new state law, SB 802, to join Sacramento County and nearby cities in forming a regional homelessness and housing authority by January 2028. City leaders previously opposed the bill over funding control but shifted to neutral after amendments let each jurisdiction keep its own dollars. Citrus Heights already has council members serving on a regional task force shaping how this new system will work.
